New Sermon Series - New Resurrection Life

Next Wednesday, March 5, marks the beginning of Lent, a season of reflection, repentance, and renewal—a time to slow down, remember Christ’s sacrifice, and prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter. As we begin this journey, we will spend the next several weeks exploring what it means to live a new resurrection life—here and now. The resurrection of Jesus is not just an event in history; it is the foundation of our present and future reality. Because Christ is risen, we are invited into a transformed way of living—one that shapes our identity, our relationships, our work, our rest, and even how we view death itself. Through this series, we will look at how the resurrection is not just about life after death but about new life today. Each week, we will unpack a different aspect of what it means to walk in resurrection life:

The Risen Son of God: Our New Identity - We begin by considering Christ Himself—the risen Son of God—and what He has accomplished for us. In Him, we have died to our old selves and have been raised to new life. What does it mean to set our hearts on things above and live as those already raised with Christ?

The Resurrection and Community - The resurrection not only changes individuals but also creates a new community. In Christ, we are united as one body, called to live in humility, patience, and love. How does resurrection life shape the way we belong to and build up the church?

The Resurrection and Work - God’s resurrection power doesn’t just affect our souls—it also redefines our purpose and work. We are new creations, called to be ambassadors of reconciliation. What does it look like to work, create, and labor with eternity in mind?

The Resurrection and Creation - All creation groans for redemption, and through Christ’s resurrection, God promises to make all things new. How should we live in light of the coming renewal of God’s created order?

The Resurrection and the Body - Our physical bodies matter. The resurrection assures us that we will be raised imperishable. How should this truth shape the way we see and care for our bodies today?

The Resurrection and Sexuality - We are hosting a seminar on April 4 and 5 entitled "Redeeming Sexuality," where we will explore how the resurrection of Jesus shapes our understanding of sexuality. In a world that often distorts or diminishes the meaning of our bodies, desires, and relationships, the resurrection invites us into a renewed vision—one that reflects God’s design for wholeness, intimacy, and flourishing. Because Christ is risen, our sexuality is not defined by brokenness or shame but is redeemed and reordered in light of His new creation. This seminar will be a space to engage in honest conversations, seek wisdom, and embrace the hope and transformation found in Christ.

The Resurrection and Rest - In Christ, we are invited into a deep, lasting rest. The resurrection is an invitation to cease striving and trust in the finished work of Jesus. How do we live in the rhythm of resurrection rest?

The Resurrection and Feasting - God’s kingdom is described as a great feast, where death is swallowed up forever. The resurrection points us to a future banquet—but it also invites us to taste that joy now. How do our meals and celebrations reflect the hope of resurrection?

The Resurrection and Death - Finally, we end by confronting the ultimate enemy—death. Because Christ is risen, death has lost its sting. How do we face death with resurrection hope?

We invite you to join us in this journey as we prepare our hearts for Easter. May we not only celebrate Christ’s resurrection but also live in the fullness of His resurrection power—today and always!

Prayers for healing

We invite you to join us for a time of prayers for healing during our upcoming service. The Bible reassures us of the power of prayer and the promise of healing through faith. In James 5:14-15, we are reminded: "Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up."

Let us come together with hearts full of hope, trusting in God's steadfast love and healing touch for all in need—whether it be spiritual, physical, emotional, or relational healing.

Instructions:

  • During this moment of prayer, you will be invited to pray out loud and simultaneously, just as you have been doing in the past few weeks.

  • Those desiring to be prayed for are encouraged to come to the front of the church. All who are waiting for healing are encouraged to come forward with expectancy and hope.

  • Pastor Danny and Pastor Gustavo will be standing by the main aisle to anoint you with oil, symbolizing the Holy Spirit's presence and power.

  • Our elders and congregational care team will be standing right behind them to pray with you individually, offering support and encouragement.

  • We will close this time of prayer by singing "The Lord's Prayer" together, uniting our voices in an expression of faith and community.

Let us join together, lifting each other up in prayer and trusting in God's promises.
